A sad story
My thoughts:
One of the things which has become more clear to me while in medical school (there aren't many) is that people are not basically good. There is good in the world, and it is worth fighting for, but it will always be a struggle by kind hearted individuals against an indifferent crowd.

I can't agree more nathan. Sin is rampant as we have daily testimony. It is worth it that we join the fight against it, but it certaily isn't always easy. But let us never forget that in Xp we have reason for true joy and, seeing the fallen world, a startling realization of everyone's need for Him. It can be disheartening, but it can also be motivation.
